In maths, they build a solid understanding of numbers, shapes, space and measurement. Topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are heavily focused on. During science lessons, children are introduced to scientific concepts and begin to develop investigative skills.

Personal, social, health and economic education

KS1 includes PSHE education, which is known to help children develop social and emotional skills. They also develop awareness for themselves and those around them, as well as healthy habits. PSHE lessons cover topics such as relationships, feelings, self-care and safety. They also promote an understanding of diversity, respect and moral values, equipping little ones with the life skills needed to make them responsible individuals.
