About Me:

  • InLibrisLibertas
Location : Mill Valley, California, United States

I'm an independent investor. I make my living from the returns on my investments. I work at home, in the northern part of the San Francisco Bay area. I spent most of my career as an executive in high-tech, although I also spent time in banking. Down to one kid in university now!

The next 1-5 years will be interesting to watch in America. As Americans purchase SUVs, boats and RVs and expect “the American way of life” for not much hard work, the Europeans pay $10-$12 a gallon. I can only imagine the outrage when gas prices become more inline with the rest of the world. Good thing Obama is going to solve all of our problems.

Where were these type of videos when house prices and taxes were doubling every 5 years? (my monthly budget of housing and taxes = $14,000. my monthly budget of gas at $4 a gallon = $200)

Phil Gramm is right. We have become a bunch of soft, obese whinners (http://www.americansportsdata.com/obesitystats.asp). It’s just not politically correct to state the obvious.

A deep depression tends to help put things back into perspective. I know my grandparents were much tougher than i am (and certainly tougher than my kids’ generation).

We are not there yet. I just saw an email request on our middle school distribution list for 2 jonas brothers concert tickets….$1600. yes, no typo… $1600. Clearly most mindsets are not yet seeing a depression coming. 33% of the population isn’t obese during a depression.
